Permanent Hair Reduction.

Permanent hair removal has been established as the complete destruction of a hair follicle\'s ability to regenerate and grow hair. It  is not necessarily permanent, meaning you will still have to have an occasional body hair removal treatment, about once a year.  A newer term used by some hair removal marketers is \"semi-permanent hair removal.  While lasers are FDA approved, the FDA does not allow for the marketing of technologies and services that state permanent hair removal.  Electrolysis is an alternative permanent hair removal method that has been used for over 125 years.  Electrolysis is still the only true permanent hair removal method and the only permanent treatment recognized by the FDA.  What most of the permanent hair removal systems really offer is hair reduction, which lessens over time.  For those looking for permanent hair removal, the market offers a number of methods which are not quite 100%.

It\'s difficult to assess a new hair removal method that claims to be permanent.  For the purposes of hair removal, the definition of \"permanent\" is being able to go a year after your final hair removal treatment without having to use another method of hair removal.  Another undefined term is \"long-term\" hair removal.  The definition of \"long-term\" is being able to go 6 months after your final treatment without having to use another method of hair removal.  A newer term used by some hair removal marketers is \"semi-permanent hair removal.

Laser Hair removal, in spite of the high cost, can only offer “long lasting\" hair removal, that is because all the clinical data they have done does not support the claim of permanent hair removal. Technologies like laser hair removal provide a reduction of hair growth up to 90%, give or take 10%.  Still we cannot say laser hair removal is permanent without acknowledging the possibility of that 10%.  However, when you stack that 10% against waxing or tweezing, the reduction in hair and hair removal costs is mind-boggling.

For Laser, clinical results are still widely variable in the published literature, with long-term response rates from 0% to 100%, depending on the study.  Laser has several advantages over electrolysis, and vice versa. Laser and light-based methods are sometimes called phototricholysis or photoepilation.  Lasers can cause localized damage by selectively heating dark target matter in the area that causes hair growth while not heating the rest of the skin.  Laser is attracted to dark pigment and therefore works best on pale skin and dark coarse hair.

Lasers also captured the imagination of the hair-removal industry, which began attempting hair removal almost as soon as dermatologists and researchers began experimenting on living tissue.  Laser hair removal works by sending a laser beam to the hair follicle with enough energy to destroy the root, without it affecting the surrounding area.  It makes use of intense light source of specific wavelength to heat up and destroy the hair follicle selectively.  Lasers DO NOT achieve permanent hair destruction after one single treatment.

Permanent hair removal has been established as the complete destruction of a hair follicle\'s ability to regenerate and grow hair.  Permanent hair removal is not necessary permanent, meaning you will still have to have an occasional body hair removal treatment, about once a year.  The only method of clinically proven permanent hair removal is electrolysis.  What most of the permanent hair removal systems really offer is hair reduction, which lessens over time.  For those looking for permanent hair removal, the market offers a number of methods which are not quite 100%.

There are various methods available for hair removal, some of them only result in temporary hair loss while some other methods result in more permanent hair removal.  Some permanent hair removals work better than others.  In 1948, Walter and Helen Kunze (pioneers in the permanent hair removal profession) started the first clinic in Colorado with the idea of providing permanent hair reduction while leaving the skin smooth and showing no evidence of treatment.  Technology has advanced and permanent hair removal is a flourishing field that is bringing convenience and confidence to clients.
